Connect VNTAR to Codex desktop

Complete these four steps in order. Start with research access; trading access can be granted later from this page.

Recommended
  1. 1

    Copy the VNTAR server address

This is the only URL you need. Do not paste your VNTAR password or brokerage credentials into Codex.

    https://vntar.com/mcp
  2. 2

Add an MCP server in Codex

Open Codex → Settings → MCP servers, choose Add server, and enter:

    Name
    VNTAR
    Type
    Streamable HTTP
    URL
    https://vntar.com/mcp
  3. 3

    Connect and approve in VNTAR

Choose Connect or Save in Codex. A VNTAR sign-in and approval page opens in your browser. Sign in, review the client name and requested access, then approve it. Research-only access is the safest starting point.

  4. 4

    Confirm that Codex appears here

Return to VNTAR → Settings → Agentic trading. You should see an Approved client card named Codex. If it does not appear, refresh this page once and reconnect from Codex.

How you know it worked

Codex is listed above as an approved client, and Codex can answer the safe verification prompt below without asking you to add the server again.

Using ChatGPT instead?

Create a custom MCP app

  1. 1.In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and enable Developer mode.
  2. 2.Go to Settings → Apps → Create, paste https://vntar.com/mcp, then choose Scan tools.
  3. 3.Complete the VNTAR authorization prompt, wait for the scan, and choose Create.

ChatGPT plan and workspace permissions can affect which MCP actions are available.

After you connect

Start with a safe connection check.

An approved connection gives your AI workspace permission to use VNTAR when you ask it to. It does not start a background bot or independently look for trades.

Your first Codex prompt

Use the VNTAR MCP tools. Verify my account status, buying power, current positions, and active agentic mandate. Do not submit, cancel, modify, or close any order.

When it is active

Open a Codex task with VNTAR enabled and give it a specific request. “Full control ready” means it is permitted to act, not that it is running on its own.

How to follow activity

Trade shows broker orders and fills. Settings shows the client mandate and budget. VNTAR records each MCP request and execution decision securely.

After the check, use a narrow request with a symbol, side, and amount. Every request must still pass your mandate and broker checks; purchase orders also require available buying power.

Change password

Confirm your current password before setting a new one.
